We couldn't take our camper because of bad brake lines, but still wanted to take our end of summer trip north. Did a little research and found motel in Clinton CT and Wells Maine.
Hammonasset State Park was our first destination and it didn't disappoint! While we waited for our room to be ready at the Clinton Motel, we headed to Madison to have a snack at our favorite coffee shop. 
Thought while we waited we would check out the beach near our motel in Clinton. Was a small town beach, but charged for parking and being we would only be there for a short time, we passed.
