Finally settled in and having some fun.... Set up the little Bungalow By The Sea and then hit the water. Remember as you go through the blog, that you can click on the pictures to see them full size!
One of the first thing we did was head out into the grass flats with our kayaks and do a little netting. Low and behold and within the first couple on net sweeps......
YEP!!!!! HORSES..... This always puts a smile on my face. Set up a small tank back at camp and sit and watch the little beauties when I am just hanging out. Here is a shot of their stable.
Another thing we enjoy doing is called Geocaching. We use our GPS to search for hidden treasures all over the world. These treasures are small containers with a log book and other items of all types. We rode our bikes to East Beach here on the island and then headed out on foot along the Gulf Beach. The GPS can get you to withing 15 or 20 feet of the cache, but you need good eyes to make the final discovery. Here is a picture of the cache in it's hiding spot....can you make it out???
Here is what it looks like once it is open. We took a fishing bobber and left a sea bean. There are at least 4 more caches here on the island, we may find them all if we get lucky.
click on the pick and you can see better what was in the CACHE. We got back to camp and decided to take a kayak trip around to the other side of the island and visit the other Haas family. Here is a shot of the Ferret telling me about the BIG ONE that got away. Also a shot the the famous Fish Wagon, which he rides in while he thinks up his fish stories.
Ok till next time and of course a Florida west coast sunset to end the day. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the ride.
