When Pigs Fly
The Pig has flown the coop! A sad day and the end of an era. Many years ago we first stopped at the GA Pig, an old shack BBQ joint, run by two old southern women. Over the years it has changed hands, but still stayed, pretty much and old shack, serving, real wood smokes, pit BBQ. Always chopped, never pulled. Was a sad moment as I pulled into the parking lot and realized it was, lifeless and empty. The only hint of what was once there was the last remaining sign, on the side of the building. It will take me a little time to fully digest this final visit to a landmark, along the highway of my life.

The Beat Goes On
Still hanging out with Walt. Mal heads home today, on the big bird and we start to wind down camp, for tomorrow's departure. Been a busy few days and all of them fun filled. We even got to celebrate Christmas yesterday. Was fun to see Addi inherit some "present fever" from her dad. Toured the hotels and saw a full size gingerbread house. Fireworks from the top of the Contemporary and what a sight it was. Unlimited food at Pioneer Hall and boat rides all over the lake, as well as monorail rides. Just too much to list!

Hello Walt
We are settled in and the fun has begun. Pancake party at Fort Wilderness site 221, a little puddle hopping and then off to the pool. Lunch, poolside and then back to camp to decorate the site. Finished the full day with a visit to some of Walt's best stores and dinner with Wolfgang puck.

She Left Her Sock in Fort DeSoto
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but we are now landed in Disney World, for an early Christmas, with the family. Some how the washer, the dryer or a racoon, stole one of Cheryl's good socks, at Fort DeSoto. I hope we can hold up to the pressure of Disney.

In The Fog
That was how we started the day and how we ended the day. This time it was really fog! Never saw anything quite like it, you could see the sun was out, but couldn't break the fog. Off we set in the kayaks for North Beach and even though it was a long trip, we enjoyed it. Pork chops and a bike ride, ended the day. Weird not having a sunset, cause of fog.

Here Comes the Sun
What a beautiful day here in paradise. Took a kayak ride all over the place and saw just about everything. Back to camp in time to pack a picnic lunch and off to the beach. Ended the day at the 1000 foot gulf pier and found yet another geocache. Watched yet another sunset and a casual after dinner walk. Not a bad way to spend a day.

A couple of busy beavers
We are staying busy, to say the least. Started the day with a two hour kayak trip and then biked for awhile. Took a noon coffee break and headed for the sand flats of north beach, waked them for awhile. Then off into the woods to find a geocache. Found that one and then decided to find a few more and we did. Stopped at busy beach on the way back and walked and sat that beach too. Back for some grilled veggies, chicken and rice, while we watched the sunset. I may need a vacation.....
You can see the busy parking lot and the crowed beach in the pictures.

A couple more cashes
We walked and biked to three more geocaches today and enjoyed them all. Weather has been beautiful and the temps. Had a good morning collecting in the kayak, out by the island. Even found a seahorse!

Geocaching
Pronounced. G. O. Cashing. All it takes is a little blood, sweat and tears. We hunted down two of them today, here at fort desoto. The first one took us close to an hour to find and had us both bleeding. Below are a few pictures of the hunt and the find. Great fun and good exercise .

Life's a Beach
Rolled back into Fort Desoto or as we call it, home. Temps in the 80's and plenty of sound, we are happy.

Back to Addie's
Another beautiful weather day and run ragged by our very favorite grandchild. Just a few pictures of the day.
Arrived at Addie's
We were up early and drove hard, made it there by noon. Off we headed to the Christmas parade and festival. The snow was by far Addie's favorite event. Beautiful weather and good food, just added to a wonderful day.
